14 Day Motorcycle Tour of Sri Lanka

Day 1   

Arrival day. Pick up from Colombo international Airport &  Transfer to Beach hotel in Negombo.  Rest & relax by the pool and dinner.

Day 2  

Starting from Negombo to Kurunegala ride up to Ethugala rock view point from there you can see a Giant Statue of Buddha and wildlife. Especially Macaques. Then we head on to the rock fortress of Sigiriya (Lion's rock) is an ancient rock fortress and palace ruin situated in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. A popular tourist destination and  the cave temple of Dambulla, The city of Dambulla is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, situated 148 km north-east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. Major attractions of the city include the largest and best preserved cave temple complex of Sri Lanka we stay overnight at Habarana.

Day 3

Leaving Habarana we stop to ride an Elephants in the village, Then on to Polonnaruwa. (846 AD - 1302 AD), (WHS). Polonnaruwa was the Island's capital during the period of 9th -13th century A.D. The city in its day was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many shrines. At Gal Vihare, we find magnificent Buddhist sculptures carved out of massive rocks. We will visit the royal ruins of the Audience hall, Council Chamber, the Royal Citadel, the Kumara Pokuna (pond), Royal Pavilion. The ruins of Buddhist temples of Thuparama, Kirivehera, Hatadage. Most of all are the vast ancient rainwater reservoirs which irrigate dry zone plains to date providing the lifeline. we will stay overnight at polonnaruwa.

Day 4

From Polonnaruwa to Girithale where we head off into the mountains, Mathale where we stop to visit a famous Hindu Temple, Finishing our day in Kandy where we stay in one of the local hotels.

Day 5

We take our ease today in Kandy. We can tour the City and visit The Botanical Gardens, The Temple of the Sacred Tooth and in the evening view a performance of Kandian Dancing and spend the night in this colorful city.

Day 6

This Morning we head for the Knuckle’s range a stretch of mountains that runs from Kandy to Sigirya including Corbett’s gap and Meemure Ancient Village from here we can take in the local rural lifestyle and enjoy an off road experience through the Jungle, Then visit Hunnas Falls hotel and  stay overnight.

Day 7

After the Breakfast we leave Hunnas falls hotel and ride through Kandy on our way to the Bio diversity center in (Ambuluwawa) Gampola and stay overnight at Ramboda falls hotel.

Day 8  

Beginning our day with a nature walk to Ramboda waterfall, then we head for Nuwara eliya and visit Labukalle Tea factory along our way, we next stop at Horton’s place (World’s end from where we can see right across to the East Coast) and stay overnight at Haputale Olympus plaza hotel.

Day 9   

Our day begins with a ride to Bambarakanda waterfall (The highest waterfall in Sri lanka) an off road ride takes us to Worlds End Lodge where we break for tea, Belihuloya is a scenic place of Trees, Rocks and a small river very peaceful and magical place, we then ride through Rubber plantations on the way to Diyaluma falls the return to Haputhale Olympus plaza hotel for the night.

Day 10

This morning we leave Haputale for Buduruwagala Rock that is carved with many relief's of Buddha then Ella gap a viewpoint from where you can see the East Coast and Rawana Waterfall, then Lipton’s seat viewpoint and Stay the night at Ella.

Day11

From Ella we ride to Rawana falls and Stay Overnight at Hotel Priyankara in Tissamaharama

Day 12

Today we go wild and visit Yala National park for a safari we can see many wild animals including Elephants, Crocodiles, Wild Boar, Peacocks and Deer etc ( if we are very, very lucky we may spot a Leopard ) stay overnight in Unawatuna.

Day 13

From Unawatuana we head North stopping at Galle fort an old fort of Dutch/Portuguese construction, The Turtle farm Kosgoda does which does much fine work in rearing the baby Turtles for future release back into the Ocean we will also see the Toddy tapping at ( Toddy is drawn from the flower of Coconut Palm ) Payagala. a stop for Shopping in Colombo then return to Negombo.

Day 14

Rest day in Negombo at a Beach hotel then Farewell and transfer back to the airport.
