Safari Tour Itineraries 1 |

Day 1:
We meet at the airport and transfer you to
a hotel in Negombo. During the Afternoon we visit
Negombo Fish Market and the Bazaar.
Overnight and Dinner at a Negombo Beach Hotel. |

Day 2:
We gather after breakfast and proceed to
Anuradhapura for a sightseeing tour. Visiting Sri Maha
Bodhi, Ruwanweli Seya, and Thooparamaya Temples and The
Isurumuniya Statue In the museum etc. Dinner and
overnight stay at a hotel in Anuradhapura. |

Day 3:
An early start is called for so after
early breakfast we set off to visit Sigiriya
to climb the Rock Fortress, visit the Kaudulla Park
(September to October) or Minneriya National Park
(July and August) for a Safari by Jeep. Dinner and
overnight stay at a Sigiriya Hotel. |

Day 4:
Having breakfasted early we proceed to Wasgamuwa via The Knuckles range. You will be able
to experience four climatic changes within 45
minutes, beautiful scenery. Dinner and overnight
stay at Wasgamuwa Safari Village Hotel. |

Day 5:
After breakfast we will visit Dambana where the
Waddha's live ( The original Aboriginal People of
Sri Lanka) Thereafter proceed to Kandy.
During the evening we visit the Cultural centre to
see Kandyan dancing. Dinner and overnight stay at a
hotel in Kandy. |

Day 6:
The first of our visits is to the Temple
Of The Tooth in Kandy City. We then proceed to
Haputhale via Nuwara Eliya en-route visiting Tea
Plantation and Tea factory. Brief sightseeing of
Nuwara Eliya. Dinner and overnight stay at a Hotel
in Haputhale (Olympus Plaza) . |

Day 7:
After breakfast we leave for Tissa
en-route visiting Wellawaya, Buduruwagala. Later an
afternoon safari by jeep in Yala National Park or
Bundala National Park (Bird Sanctuary) Dinner and
overnight stay at a Hotel in Tissa. |

Day 8:
A morning departure for Galle en-route we
can see The Stilt Fishermen off the beach at
Ahangama. Visit the Galle Dutch Fortress. Dinner and
overnight stay at a Hotel in Galle. |

Day 9:
After breakfast proceed to airport for
departure or extend for beach stay. |

Day 1:
Transfer to the unspoilt, palm-fringed beach of Ahungalla on Sri
Lanka’s southwest coast. Settle in at your 5-star
hotel, completely refurbished since the tsunami.
Tranquil and secluded, this luxury hotel and spa,
designed by Geoffrey Bawa, Sri Lanka’s most famous
architect, which offers superb beachside accommodation in
an airy and relaxed atmosphere, with panoramic views
of the azure-blue Indian Ocean.

Day 2:
In the late afternoon,
enjoy a riverboat trip along the coastal backwaters,
with the chance of seeing a variety of bird species,
water monitors and much more, including village life
up close and personal! Night stay at Heritance Ahungalla. |

Day 3:
Day three tour of the
Hill Country and national parks, starting with a
drive through ‘jungle’ on your way up to Nuwara
Eliya, the British colonial capital of the Hill
Country and the highest town in Sri Lanka at 1900 m
above sea level. Visit a working tea factory before
continuing on to your overnight stay at Olympus
Plaza Hotel in Haputhale at the southern end
of the Hill Country. |

Day 4:
Drop down to the
southern plain for an afternoon jeep safari in Uda
Walawe NP, which is Sri Lanka’s premier elephant
reserve. Visit the Elephant Transit Home, where
orphaned elephants are looked after before being
reintroduced into the wild (supported by the Born
Free Foundation). Night stay at Centauria Tourist
Hotel, Embilipitiya. |

Day 5:
Continue to Yala for an
afternoon jeep safari in Yala West NP, the island’s
principal wildlife park, to see elephants, the rare
Sloth Bear and the elusive leopard (hopefully!).
Overnight at Yala Village. |

Day 6:
An early morning jeep
safari in Bundala NP, Sri Lanka’s premier bird
sanctuary, is followed by a picturesque drive along
the southern and southwestern coastline back to
Heritance Ahungalla, with a visit to the Old Dutch
Fort at Galle, a World Heritage Site, on the way.

Day 7:
At leisure. Night stay
at Heritance Ahungalla. |
